Publication Ethic Statement

 Bara Aji: Junal Keilmuan Bahasa Arab dan Pengajarannya  is a peer-reviewed journal, available in print and online. Bara Aji is a scientific periodical journal that managed by peer-review, in which other scientists (peer-review) evaluate the article’s value and credibility before published. This journal is dedicated to publish scientific articles in the education and Islamic studies from different aspects and perspectives as well as the themes that have been determined. This journal is available in print with e- ISSN: 3031-4852, and published twice a year, in Juli and Januari. Bara Aji aims to become one of the forums for ideas and results of researchers dissemination in the field of education and Islamic studies. In addition, it also can be a major reference in the same field. Bara Aji committed to keep maintaining the high ethical standard in scientific publication include the peer-review, author, journal editor, and publisher. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors standards.

ETHICAL GUIDELINE FOR JOURNAL PUBLICATION

The publication of an article in Bara Aji: Junal Keilmuan Bahasa Arab dan Pengajarannya is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific methods. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the editor, the reviewer, the publisher, and the society. As the publisher of Bara Aji: Junal Keilmuan Bahasa Arab dan Pengajarannya, Institut Kariman Wirayudha Sumenep, Kompleks PP Al-Karimiyyah Beraji Gapura Sumenep, Indonesia, takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing seriously and it recognizes its ethical and other responsibilities..

Publication Decisions

The editors of Kariman: Jurnal pendidikan dan keislaman is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. Before publishing both Online and in Print for the Kariman: Jurnal pendidikan dan keislaman, the Chief Editor who is in charge of publishing asks for input from other editors as well as support for suggestions from reviewers. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board. Where it is also based on a series of journal publications starting from submitting manuscripts, checking editors, checking reviewers, checking layouts, checking plagiarism and copyright.  This is under the supervision of the Chief Editor and other Editors with the authority, so that the publication decision for the manuscript in the Kariman Journal appears.

Plagiarism Screening

It is basically author’s duty to only submit a manuscript that is free from plagiarism and academically malpractices. The editor, however, double checks each article before its publication. The first step is to check plagiarism against offline database developed by LP2M Institut Kariman Wirayudha Sumenep, and the second step is to check plagiarism against as many online databases as possible.

 

Fair Play

An editor at any time evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff may not disclose any information about the manuscript submitted to anyone other than the respective authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors and publishers, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in editors' own research without the express written consent of the author.

DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviews assist editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors can also assist authors in improving article manuscripts.

Promptness

Kariman journals are very concerned about the timeliness of publication and information on authors. Every manuscript that is submitted to Kariman journals is informed to the authors and reviewers for the process as its basic provisions. If the reviewer does not carry out their duties on time, the editor takes the decision to replace another reviewer with higher quality. In order to keep the speed of publication time consistent as specified.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor. Every incoming manuscript is kept strictly confidential by the editors, reviewers and publishers. Given the blind-reviewer system, each manuscript entered into a reviewer can only discuss the content of the manuscript with the editor and writer.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Every manuscript submitted to the kariman Journal, editors and reviewers are required to evaluate the manuscript based on the established standards. However, comments from editors and reviewers need to respect the author. As well as reviewers are required to be consistent in their decisions and recommendations to editors and writers.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. where the manuscript is sent by the author through the editor. Every source needs to be known for its truth and accuracy, and be acknowledged through a list of trusted references. if Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by a proper citation. A reviewer should also call to the editors' attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions related to the papers.

Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to kariman: jurnal pendidikan dan keislaman  is independently reviewed by at least one or two reviewers in the form of "double-blind review". Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation. In certain cases, the editor may submit an article for review to another, third reviewer before making a decision, if necessary.

DUTIES OF AUTHORS

Reporting Standards

Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if authors have used the work and / or words of others that these have been appropriately quoted or cited.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Every manuscript submitted by the author to the kariman Journal is obliged to provide acknowledgment of appropriate sources and is able to add value to the manuscript, all such acknowledgments must be clearly listed on the list of references.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorities should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the research reported in the manuscripts submitted to the kariman Journal. Authors listed in the manuscript have a responsibility to register second authors or other authors posted with the review process. If accepted, all authors are required to provide a signed statement that the research work is their original research work.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental errors in Published Works

When an author finds a significant error or problem in a published work, the author is obliged to immediately notify the editor or journal publisher and work closely with the editor to withdraw or correct the research.
